Upon completion of this continuing education course, you will have increased your understanding of the impact of domestic violence (DV) and the role of the healthcare professional in identifying and responding to patients presenting with known or suspected domestic violence signs and symptoms. Specific learning objectives to address potential learning gaps include:

• Identify the different types of domestic violence.
• Describe who is affected by domestic violence.
• Discuss appropriate documentation and reporting in cases of suspected dv.
• Identify community resources and victim services and protections.
• Explain a model protocol that addresses domestic violence.
• Discuss the healthcare implications and adverse effects of domestic violence.
• List common risk factors, lethality issues, and dynamics of abuse.
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of domestic violence.

CE Hours: 2 Continuing Education Credit Hours

Our online courses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you can start and stop as often as necessary to accommodate your schedule. The student will have 30 days to complete the course.
